We’re currently searching for a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re wanting to share your knowledge of nutrition and help with the health and wellbeing of others, please keep reading.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of the Virginia Tech student population.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Manager of Quality and Communication Services, in a 1500-hour per year, hourly, wage position.
3) You’ll be responsible for conducting dietary consultations, providing nutrition counseling and education to students. And providing nutrition education materials and information to students and staff at the Schiffert Health Center.
4) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5) You’ll be offered an hourly rate of $25.20 to $26.40, depending upon experience.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in the field of dietetics, nutrition, or nutrition education.
• Demonstrated excellence in nutritional counseling and education.
• Registered Dietitian (R.D.) designation from an accredited program.
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Demonstrated practical experience as a Registered Dietitian.
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication skills with individual clients as well as large groups.
• Previous experience providing dietary assessments and nutrition counseling to clients with disordered eating.
• Experience developing nutritional training and educational materials and presenting to groups and individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working in a higher education setting.
