Job Summary
The Employee Health Nurse assesses, plans, and performs nursing practice with an emphasis on optimizing health, preventing illness and injury and working as a liaison to HR & IP to ensure a smooth transition and protection from a well-being perspective. The nurse will work independently in assessing the new hires for their health status with respect to the department’s job tasks and hazards. The nurse will also work with the medical director and IP director in performing the testing required for all new hires
. Reports to: Benefits Manager, Human Resources
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years hospital nursing RI RN active license Certified or trained in respiratory fit testing, TST, immunizations administrations Knowledgeable in the RI Department of Health Rules & regulations with new hire screening for healthcare workers Skilled in medical management for post exposure management with blood borne pathogens
Success Factors Attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, computer skills and knowledge with software programs for reporting data. Has the ability to organize and work independently in correlating workload with job responsibilities. A willingness to accept new challenges and duties to the position. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to collaborate well with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
