**Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant**
_Our Lactation Department is seeking a skilled nurse focused on helping new Moms through the Lactation process. Is that you?_
**Work location:** Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093
**Work hours:** Part Time, 24 Hours; 8:30am – 9:30am start time; Weekends and Holiday rotation required
**Mother/Baby Department highlights:**

**Here’s What You Need**
· Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
· BSN preferred
· Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
· One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
· One year of Lactation Consultant experience preferred
· Outpatient Lactation experience preferred
· Experience in Women & Children's highly preferred
· RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
· IBCLC certification required within 2 years
· IBCLC upon hire preferred
· NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
+ BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
**What You Will Do**
· Function as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians.
· Serve as a clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence.
· Produce documentation that initiates, follows and revises patient’s plan of care.
· Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care.
· Review patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding.
· Assess outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems
· Participate in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource Center
