POSITION SUMMARY The Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN, Occupational Health) establishes, manages, and evaluates comprehensive health services by providing Occupational Health nursing services to Ardent Health employees in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and policies/protocols. Responsibilities Reviews incident reports and acts appropriately with our worker’s comp vendor and employee to ensure appropriate care. Assesses, evaluates, and treats work related injuries, first aid and illnesses within the nursing practice Must be able to quickly conduct health assessment, determine appropriate treatment and coordinate care with other disciplines. Provides employees with education on personal health and safety. Inform employees of test results, instructs employees on health care or refers them to appropriate health professionals Conducts pre-employment health screenings, return to work and health surveillance evaluation Maintains and updates health records on all employees and prepares departmental records and reports. Files test results, incident report, records immunizations and counseling given in health records. Pre-employment immunizations/vaccinations Pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug screening Consultation and referrals for non-occupational health concerns Reviews and investigates accidents, injuries, exposures to hazards and communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and follow-up as indicated Participates in risk management by identifying, monitoring and following-up on employee incidents. Assesses need for further treatment, work restrictions or prophylaxis. Posts all communications to ensure compliance including Workers Comp and OSHA Qualifications Education & Experience: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing Registered Nurse licensed to practice in applicable state Basic Life Support Certification Previous Occupational Health experience, preferred. One year experience in direct, acute patient care preferred.
