Registered Nurse, Supervisor – Onsite Mercedes Job Locations US-AL-Tuscaloosa ID 2025-9833 Category RN - Registered Nurse Position Type Regular Full-Time (72 to 80 hours bi-weekly) Overview Performs occupational medicine related nursing duties on-site at Mercedes-Benz Medical Clinic industry locations, including clinical nursing, injury/illness management, and health/wellness promotion for employees of Mercedes-Benz. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with other team members and disciplines in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Supervises on-site DCH hourly staff. Responsibilities
Supervises the staff and coordinates patient flow and daily work processes for the assigned company client onsite.Responsible for the supervision of the assigned staff including doing performance evaluations, establishing job duties, evaluating individual competencies, and executing the positive discipline process.Performs and supervises basic and/or advanced nursing tasks indicated for patients at onsite industry clinic.Facilitating processes for Medical Leave Management. (Disability, Work Comp and FML)Performs tasks required for surveillance and routine examinations. May include, but not limited to PFT, Drug and Alcohol Screening, Audiogram, Lab Test, EKG, Vision Screening, Vaccinations.Supervises and/or performs assessments and completes documentation for patients presenting for initial injury/illness care and reoccurring visits.At provider direction, responds to health-related emergencies and assists in managing progression to further medical treatment.Provides basic care or treatments, such as taking vital signs, assessing pain level, administering prescribed medications, wound dressings and application of splints/braces.Communicates test results and x-ray reports to physician.Reports abnormal results and/or observations to physician.Anticipates the needs of the physician, ensuring that follow-up test results, reports, and any outside documentation are available for review.Completes documentation and correctly organizes all medical data in medical record/EMR. Provides and documents patient education based on physical, behavioral, psychological, and developmental needs, after identifying barriers to learning.Maintains a well-stocked, safe, clean work environment.Attends in-service programs, all mandatory required training/education and unit/department/service meetings.Responsible for supervising all other clinic staff to include the assignment of schedules and duties.Interview, selects, hires and retains employees.Ensures orientation and training for employees.Manages performance.Executes progressive discipline up to and including termination.Manages front line operations of area of accountability related to meeting/exceeding departmental goals and the DCH Mission and Vision as representatives of DCH at Mercedes-Benz.

QualificationsMust have a current Alabama RN licensure and must be in good standing with the board.Must have at least 2 years nursing experience.Experience in Urgent Care/Emergency Medicine preferred. Experience in Occupational Medicine preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.Computer skills required.Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Interpersonal Relationships This position requires working and communicating effectively within a team in a fast-paced working environment delivering medical services to patients and clients.Physical Work Conditions This position includes potential exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals and hazardous material. This position requires wearing personal protective equipment in appropriate situations.Structural Job Characteristics The Nucor Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 0700-1700 work schedules are varible, but requires work necessary to perform the the job. The position requires evaluation of departmental processes, planning and implementing necessary changes and evaluating outcomes. Decision making skills are required, gauging impact of decisions on staff and client results.
