Maintain a professional and caring environment for patients, families, physicians, and co-workers. Assess and plan individualized nursing care for patients based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data. Implement nursing interventions aligned with the Plan of Care and physician's prescribed treatment.✅ Demonstrating EP Lab Competency (Including, but not limited to):
Understanding and adhering to new hire expectations and unit scheduling requirements. Emergency Management: Fire Safety, Environment of Care, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Codes, Security Alerts, and Survey Readiness. Identifying key resources (Nurse Educator, Case Manager, Social Worker, Pharmacy, Palliative Care, etc.) and collaborating effectively. Implementing Patient Safety Initiatives, including: Patient Identification, Effective Communication, Labeled Specimens, Healthcare-Associated Infections, and Universal Protocol. Following Physician’s Orders accurately, including electronic documentation, scanning prescriptions, and reviewing standing orders. Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for order entry, patient census, lab results, and critical results review. Performing bedside shift report/handoff to ensure continuity of care. Completing pre/post-procedural documentation, consent verification, and time-out procedures for patient safety.✅ Advanced Clinical Responsibilities in the EP Lab
Performing moderate sedation, point-of-care testing, contrast injector use, and sheath removal. Operating physiological monitoring systems and procedural aseptic scrubbing. Conducting device interrogation and temporary disablement. Supporting ICD Registry data and submission processes. Managing Impella Heart Pump care and other critical cardiovascular interventions. Preventing hospital-acquired conditions such as falls, CAUTI, and CLABSI through diligent care practices.✅ Commitment to Excellence & Continuous Growth
Conduct hourly rounds to ensure patient comfort and safety. Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect. Utilize infection control precautions to ensure a safe healthcare environment. Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned, overseeing the daily operations of the EP Lab. Precept and mentor novice employees, contributing to their professional development. Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives, hospital-wide nursing programs, and ongoing education.
