About Short Stay Unit:

The Short-Stay Unit is a 27-bed unit that cares for outpatient medical patients scheduled to have therapeutic or diagnostic procedures. These patients will receive treatments, nursing observation and care, then are admitted to the hospital or discharged from the unit that same day. The typical patient in this unit is post-procedure such as cardiac catheterization, radiology procedures, bronchoscopy, and IV infusions such as chemotherapy or blood transfusions.

Nurses and Clinicians in this unit compose a highly independent, functioning staff with a major focus on quality patient care and satisfaction. Due to the brevity of patient stays this is a fast-paced unit that requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, varying between 4:30 am – 8:00 pm, or until the last patient is discharged. There are no weekend or holiday requirements for this unit. A Flex, Full-Time position is scheduled for 28-40 hours per week. RNs in this position can expect to work closer to 40 hours per week, but hours can fluctuate depending on business needs.
