+ JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS + Job Summary : + Contributes to the development of exercise education materials and provides professional training regarding exercise and cardiovascular disease to patients. Ability to work as a team leader during patient exercise sessions when needed. + Education : + Position requires a certificate from a college or technical school or 0- 6 months equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. + Registration/Certification/Licensure : + None Specified + Experience : + Position requires 0-6 months related experience. + Other Requirements : + Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. + Exercise Science/Physiology certification/degree or Registered Nurse. Knowledge of exercise physiology, nutrition, risk factor modification strategies, counseling techniques and uses of education programs and technologies as applied to cardiovascular rehabilitation and secondary prevention strategies. + Experience reading monitors (telemetry) and familiarity working with exercise equipment. + ACLS required within 6 months of hire; CPR required within 30 days of hire.
