Hours for this position:  4 pm to approximately 1 am

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

This position is responsible for providing first aid and emergency care for occupational injuries and illness, drug screens and record-keeping and documentation of visits to health services.

 

Essential Functions:

Provides first aid and medical treatment as needed and provides initial assessment of on the job injuries and illnesses and refers for further evaluation as necessaryConducts pre-employment physicals including fitness for duty examinations, workers compensation checks and drug screensMaintains employee health records and prepares accident reportsCommunicate safety concerns to appropriate managersAssist company doctor during weekly clinic hoursMaintains first-aid kits, and orders medical supplies as neededMaintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health recordsConducts workplace assessments with regard to health issues and exposure follow-upAssists with implementation of health promotion strategies including group and individual health education activitiesOther duties as assigned

This is an on-site position.  This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Registered Nurse position should possess the following:

Current license to practice as a licensed registered nurse in the state of KansasBachelor’s degree in nursing preferred but not requiredMinimum 3 years nursing experience. Experience in occupational health or emergency nursing preferredKnowledge of case management, workers’ compensation and OSHA regulations preferredExcellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situationsAbility to handle confidential information with great sensitivityAbility to work with limited supervision and high motivationAbility to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlinesStrong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and HRIS system)Bilingual English/Spanish preferredAvailable to work a flexible schedule
