Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Interventional Procedures Department is responsible for prepping, recovering, and providing patient care in a multi-procedural setting, including Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Neurovascular Procedures. This role includes preparing patients for their procedures, monitoring them throughout their recovery, and ensuring a safe transition to discharge or further care. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care, utilizing clinical knowledge to support complex procedural patients in a fast-paced environment.

• Minimum of 1 year previous Interventional or Critical Care experience or 2 years critical care preferred.
Required Licensure/Education:
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN required, BSN preferred).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs prior to interventional procedures. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Procedure Assistance and Treatment Administration: Assist interventional physicians during procedures by administering medications, operating specialized equipment, and closely monitoring patient status. Administer treatments and procedures as ordered by the provider, ensuring accurate, timely interventions.
• Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, physical condition, and response to interventions during and after procedures. Accurately document all observations, interventions, and changes in patient status in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Coordination of Care and Collaboration: Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively. Participate in team meetings, including discharge planning, and contribute to treatment plan adjustments as necessary.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families about procedures, medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care. Ensure patients fully understand their care plans and provide support to help them manage their recovery.
• Patient Experience: Engage with patients and families in a professional and empathetic manner to promote comfort, trust, and a positive experience. Address concerns promptly and ensure that the care environment supports patients' emotional and physical well-being.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to emergent situations, such as cardiac arrest or medical complications, by initiating appropriate nursing interventions, including life-saving procedures and patient stabilization.
