Key responsibilities include: + Gives direct patient care safely and efficiently. + Demonstrates exceptional decision-making abilities in critical situations. + Utilizes the nursing process and develops a nursing care plan for each assigned patient. + Acts as a patient advocate, communicating between patient, family and other members of the health team. + Initiates and participates in patient care conferences. + Uses equipment and supplies in a safe and economical manner. + Assigns, advises and directs other support personnel as required. + Assumes in-charge duties as required. + Assumes responsibility for professional development by participating in continuing education programmes, keeping current with professional literature, and participating in professional organizations. Qualifications &/ Registration required: + Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution. + Critical Care Nursing course certification + Trauma nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification – Emergency Nurses Association preferred. + Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council. + Two years continuous recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU. + Current certifications: American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), IV Therapy. + Experience in Physical assessment essential. + Demonstrated knowledge and clinical competencies. Schedule: 35 hrs per week. Including weekends and Public Holidays.
