POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY     

 

Under general supervision of the Surgery Manager and according to hospital standards, policies, procedures and objectives, the Pre-Admission nurse assesses patient activity and/or proposed schedule of procedures and treatments prior to patient admission in order to expedite patient admission; prevent unnecessary surgery cancellations; and facilitate the continuing care process.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.  BSN desirable. Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau. Successful completion of the Community Healthcare System’s Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs Good communications skills.  Critical thinking skills and ability to think analytically. Must be a self-starter and people-oriented. Obtains and maintains current certifications (BLS) as required in specialty areas (Critical Care).
