Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist healthcare providers throughout the clinic. The RN will perform various duties to ensure accurate patient care and documentation, manage medical records, and support patient education and appointments.
ResponsibilitiesAccurately record patient history.Retrieve initial basic condition of patients, create nursing history, and report to the appropriate practitioner.Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records and maintain all required reports, records, and statistics.Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.Inspect area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards; take corrective action when violations occur.Schedule all outside patient appointments as per physician orders and relay information accurately to patients.Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relay appropriate information to the practitioner in a timely manner.Ensure test results are received and communicated to patients promptly.Complete medical orientation checklist.Initiate appropriate patient education.Check patient voicemails.Call patients with test results.Follow up on doctor messages.Communicate with doctors regularly through the EMR Message Center.Schedule patient tests (no pre-certification required).Prepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory, and radiology reports; track and request patient records, slides, and films; document as necessary in the charts.Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointments; notify appropriate departments in writing of daily and weekly patient schedules.Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related matters; relay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretion; conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and 'no-shows'.Perform BP, TPR, and weight on each patient; alert physician of abnormalities.Perform medical history on each patient prior to being seen by the physician.Maintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in the clerical area.Handle pre-certification/referrals (experience required).Communicate with home health/infusion clinics as needed.Essential SkillsRegistered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Tennessee.2+ years of experience.Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Strong communication skills, especially with providers regularly in the hospital.Additional Skills & QualificationsUrology experience preferred.Work Environment
The work environment is an office setting that is not extremely busy, as most providers spend a majority of their time in the hospital. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
