Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology

The Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology will provide professional nursing services and patient care across the continuum of radiation therapy. You will assess patients, coordinate care, educate patients and families, and monitor patient progress throughout the treatment process. Your role is vital in ensuring patients receive the best care through collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate necessary resources to deliver high-quality care.
Educate patients and families on treatment, potential side effects, symptom management, and self-care, ensuring understanding and participation in the care plan.
Administer prescribed treatments, monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and ensure safe coordination of services with other departments.
Build trust and rapport with patients, maintain confidentiality, and address emotional situations with professionalism, while promoting a positive work environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred.
Less than one year of nursing experience required.
Radiation Oncology experience preferred.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
Life Support Certification (ACLS, BLS) required.
In lieu of a BSN, an Associate’s Degree in Nursing is acceptable with the requirement to complete a BSN within 5 years of hire.
