Registered Nurse - Cardiac Rehab - Part Time Day

Position Summary: 

To be aware of and responsible for the physical, psychological, educational, and emotional needs of a patient and family or significant other, utilizing the nursing process and department standards of care in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Stress Lab. 

Education, License & Cert: 

• Registered Nurse in the State of Practice. 

• BSN in Nursing preferred. 

• Any previously agreed upon effective date for obtaining a Bachelor's degree in nursing between individuals and facilities   will remain in effect, including those who transition to their position from the NLRN Program. 

• Any contract with specific time frames for obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing will supersede the above point and will remain in effect. 

• Specialty Certification is preferred 

• BLS certification. 

• ACLS is unit dependent. 

Experience: 

1. Approved training in Cardiac Rehab nursing and exercise physiology desired. 

2. ACLS 

3. Critical Care experience ‐ 3 years. 

Essential Functions: 

1. Completes assessment at time of initial evaluation. Develops plan of care based on assessment using Standards of Care as appropriate within 24 hours of admission. Evaluates and updates plan of care as indicated. 

2. Follows Standard Precautions and utilizes disease specific precautions as per CDC guidelines.  Follows hospital safety guidelines. Follows all hospital Policies and Procedures. Carries out MD orders as prescribed. 

3. Participates and actively supports CQI activities. 

4. Maintains biannual CPR and ACLS. Completes annual education update. 

5. Continually reads, reviews and assesses pertinent literature related to new developments within the scope of service. 

6. Provides care to the patients in the Stress Lab, to include vital signs, transportation, and whatever assistance is needed to perform the procedure properly.  Hours to include Monday ‐ Friday, as well as call on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. 

7. Demonstrates good judgement and planning when responding to requests or questions while interacting with physicians, patients, and families. 

8. Consistently shows good judgement by showing an appreciation of cost and quality. 

9. Reports any changes in the patient’s condition to the appropriate personnel; accurately assesses life threatening treatment conditions and exercises independent judgment to implement life‐sustaining actions. 

10. Assumes personal responsibility and willingness for ongoing continuing education, in‐services, professional development, learning new procedures, and accepting new responsibilities.  Performs duties in an independent manner with little or no direct supervision. Consistently strives to be an effective and productive member of the department and of the organization.

The salary range for this position is $32.89 - $46.15 per hour.
