Registered Nurse - Endo/SDS

To assess, plan, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice at Lakeview Hospital; to provide work direction for and oversight of the nursing care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel; to perform and document functions such as carrying out the  practitioner orders; to assist  with diagnostic and treatment procedures; to provide a safe and therapeutic environment; to coordinate, communicate, interpret, and explain patient care services to the patient, their family, health professionals and others; to perform related duties as assigned.   

Work Schedule: 0.8 FTE. Day/Evening shifts. Scheduled weekdays with on-call requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Nursing,  Associate Degree in Nursing, or equivalent Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry.  Registered nurses re-entering the nursing field, who have not completed 520 hours of nursing practice in the past four (4) years must successfully complete a recognized refresher course to qualify for employment.  Written information of certification validating successful completion of a refresher course must be provided before employment.    Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation.  Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.  Ability to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary treatment team.  Ability to collaborate, develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members, and co-workers.      Knowledge of basic computer skills, or the ability to achieve computer competency within 3 months.  Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques.    Knowledge of chemistry, math, pharmacology, disease processes, anatomy, and all body systems.  Knowledge of emergency procedures and medical intervention techniques.  Knowledge of infection control practices and their relation to patient care outcomes.  Ability to recognize changes in patient’s condition or body systems.  Ability to critically think clinical situations and intervene appropriately.    Skilled in using basic patient care related equipment and supplies.    Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.  Ability to provide individualized care and respond to a variety of patient/family preferences.  Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience utilizing strong customer service skills.  Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) Current ACLS certification required. If not present at start, must be obtained within 6 months of start date

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Nursing  Associate Degree prepared nurses enrolled in Baccalaureate in Nursing program
