GiaCare Inc. is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Registered Nurse – Endoscopyat Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.
Qualifications:
Degree/Education: Must have graduated from an Associate Degree (ADN) or a Baccalaureate Degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)Experience: Have at least two years of recent experience in Endoscopy within the last four years.Possess a minimum of two years of experience in conscious sedation and post-anesthesia recovery.Demonstrate knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease processes, and procedures, and be able to handle nursing assignments of moderate difficulty.Have experience in caring for acutely ill pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as necessary.Utilize the nursing process for professional practice.Understand various pharmacological agents, their effects, side effects, complications, and accurate administration, including dosage calculations.Understand administrative requirements for documenting patient conditions, disease progression, teaching provided, and follow-up care.Possess knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders and conditions commonly seen in critically ill patients.Be familiar with preventative health schedules, procedures, processes, and education methods.Preferred, but not required, to have experience with IVs/Port access, ERCPs, endoscope care, and the Genesis Electronic Health Record System.Licensure/Registration: Must possess and maintain an active, unrestricted, and current registered nurse license without any limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia. They must also provide evidence of ongoing professional education in accordance with their State Board of Nursing requirements. If the State Board of Nursing does not specify contact hour requirements, they must complete a minimum of 20 contact hours every two years and participate in continuing education programs to ensure their skills and knowledge are updated and maintained to meet annual requirementsTypical Job Duties:
Performing ongoing assessments while administering IV sedation during specialty procedures like EGDs and Colonoscopies for ambulatory, acute, and chronic patients. This includes documenting observations, test results, and patient responses.Addressing patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs and serving as a liaison with physicians.Independently initiating emergency measures such as ACLS and BLS for life-threatening conditions.Conducting health education on treatments, illnesses, and medications.Coordinating and administering therapeutic IV treatments and infusions.Communicating and collaborating effectively with diverse groups, including the healthcare team, for patient benefit and organizational purposes.Using appropriate communication formats for addressing professional issues.Performing clinical nursing duties such as telephone consults through telephone triage and reporting patients' pathological procedure results while at the Medical Center.As a GiaCare employee, you may enjoy the following benefits:
