The Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an RNFA to join our team!
Schedule: full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week one week and 2 x 12 hour shifts the next, totaling 5 x 12 hour shifts per pay period. Hours are from 7:00pm to 7:00am

The Labor and Delivery unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital located in Fairfax, Virginia has recently undergone a beautiful renovation. Our unit consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms. The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems. The usual staffing assignment consists of 1 RN for 2 laboring patients and change to 1 nurse to 1 patient based on acuity and phase of labor. The RN First Assistant provides a safe/therapeutic core by collaborating with surgeons and healthcare teams in performing safe operations with optimal patient outcomes. Practices preoperative nursing and works collaboratively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and enhance outcomes. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Requirements:
Experience: 5 years of Perioperative Nursing practice as both a scrub and circulating nurse. In the case of less than five years of experience, three recommendations from practicing Surgeons and demonstrated clinical practice. Education: Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Certification: CNOR ACLS from the American Heart Association License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
