The Chess Team registered Nurse will provide nursing care to a wide variety of patients within the Cayuga Health System. During every shift, the Chess Registered Nurse will be member of a nursing team that provides direct nursing care to a specific unit within the system. It is conceivable that a Chess Registered Nurse may start their shift in one unit and then based on a change in census and acuity be transferred or moved to a different unit to meet operational requirements. While working within a nursing unit the Chess Registered Nurse acts as a patient advocate and facilitates communication between the patient, family, and other healthcare professionals. This results I a holistic approach to planning, organizing, teaching and relationship development that best meets the needs of the patient.\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nAssess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing plan considering the patient and family's individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values and beliefs\nProvide patient education for diagnostic procedures, medical conditions and treatment plans\nProvide nursing care utilizing defined competencies and skills to areas assigned.\nDemonstrates an aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities \nExcellent organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills\nAbility to work independently, make decisions, meet deadlines, multi-task and solve problems\nWill be designated to train and work in various areas of facility providing safe & therapeutic patient care\nRequires excellent communication skills, pleasant demeanor and positive attitude\nAble to work well with others in a teamwork environment.\nThis is a FT weekend position Fri, Sat, Sun 7pm-7a.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nAssociates of Applied Science in Nursing\nCurrent NYS RN license\nBLS for all units and some may require ACLS and\/or PALS\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nPrevious critical care experience\n\n
\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nRepetitive use of hands and fingers (g. use of the computer keyboard) light lifting in regards to patient care. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time as it pertains to patient care. Must be physically able to operate the equipment used for the job.\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$44.63 to $58.18 per hour\n\n
