The Cath lab consists of 2 procedural rooms. Our patient population includes: STEMI, TAVR, Pacemakers, Internal Defibrillators, Watchman, Coronary Heart Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cardiogenic Shock, Peripheral Vascular Disease. The unit provides hands on care and our nurses have the opportunity to use their nursing skills and experience to make an immediate impact on our patient’s lives. 

Call requirements: 

30 minute response time Rotating call to cover, weekends, nights and holidays. 

Nursing skills gained: 

Procedural skills: Managing specific IV medications Managing hemodynamic responses  Managing pulmonary adjuncts Managing Cath/EP lab specific technology Maintaining sterile/aseptic environment  Communication with multiple team members Critical thinking opportunities  1:1 nursing care, BLS, ACLS

Qualifications 

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
