Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Unit for Glasser Brain Tumor Center at Overlook Medical Center to work 8AM-4PM.  

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

 

Taking vitals ,history, medication review, allergies, and entering into medical record Able to contact and coordinate care with various departments such as; neurosurgery, radiation oncology, lab, and infusion center .  Understand basic CNS anatomy , primary tumors , key pathology markers Understand neurologic symptoms and "red flags"to report  Order and schedule any additional imaging studies with appropriate departments; MRI, Vascular, CT, PFTs Coordinate infusions and intrathecal chemotherapy Understanding primary drugs : Temozolomide, Procarbazine, CCNU, Vincristine, and Avastin Understand treatment plans and monitoring for temozolomide,PCV, CCNU, and Avastin Comfortable teaching treatment plans and chemotherapy to patients/families Work collaboratively with Social Worker/Neurosurgical team to engage patients and families Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
