Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.About the Unit:
24 private beds Unit treats a variety of surgical patient diagnoses, including acute abdominal issues such as small bowel obstruction, pancreatitis, gallstones, appendicitis, gunshot wounds, stabs, falls, tracheostomies and ostomies. Staff works closely to care for these acutely ill patients who often transfer from the surgical intensive care unit. Unit helps new nurses to develop a strong skillset in assessing patients' needs, placing IVs, nasogastric tubes, tracheostomies, chest tubes and multiple drains.
• Position: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Midnights 12 Hour Shifts
• Every other weekend and Holiday Rotations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
