TheTheThis position services "NRS Nursing Cluster 7A" which are group homes located in Lexington and Lowell.
Registered Nurse II (RN II) acts as medical advocate and medical oversight person for residents in assigned work area. Incumbents within this title provide primary nursing care by assessing, recording health care, administering/supervising treatments, and monitoring Medication Administration Program (MAP) certified service providers in the delivery of health care supports to individuals in a group home. He or she will develop and implement health care plans according with Primary Care Provider (PCP) orders and Dept. of Developmental Services (DDS) and Northeast Residential Services (NRS) policies.
The RN II acts as medical advocate at appointments and through other communication with PCP. Incumbents facilitate communication of medical information to all aspects of the medical team. He or she will act as liaison for hospitalized residents for family members and/or residential service provider team members.
RN IIs provide direct clinical supervision to LPN staff. Incumbents provide various trainings to staff within the assigned work area and must be available for trainings in other group homes when deemed necessary.
Basic familiarity with PC-based systems and software is required including use of e-mail. Additionally, NRS RN IIs utilize the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ information systems “Home and Community Services Information System” (HCSIS) and Meditech. As part of daily assignments, incumbents may be required to drive between work sites on a daily basis and to perform other related duties as required. May also be on-call on rotating basis if no volunteers

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT. Listed salary ranges are for one full year at current rates.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for the required experience .
Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
