Summary of Essential Duties:Provides and documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patientsEducates patients on disease prevention and restorative measuresAdministration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of carePerforms skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and the initiation of peripheral venous accessObserves signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition.Assesses signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristicsProvides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgroundsIdentifies patient’s readiness for learning and ability to understand directions/instructions and give consentQualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited nursing program requiredBSN requiredCertification/Licensure:Current, unrestricted California RN license requiredBLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross requiredSpecialty certification required or willing to acquire within one year from start dateExperience:A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience requiredExperience in Endocrinology preferredCedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
