Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

The successful candidate:
Must be able to work FT Nights; 7p - 7a.
Assessment and Communication: Continuously assesses patient needs through a holistic approach and communicates any changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare professionals. Adjusts treatment based on the multidisciplinary plan of care.
Therapeutic Interventions: Plans, delivers, directs, coordinates, and evaluates therapeutic interventions based on the assessment process. Documents interventions provided and supervises care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
Patient/Family Education and Support: Provides patient and family education regarding the disease process, treatment side effects, and health promotion. Offers support and reassurance to ensure informed decision-making regarding the therapeutic plan. Documents education and support provided according to department standards.
Compliance and Quality Improvement: Ensures compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies. Participates in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures. Actively engages in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit to enhance patient care quality.
Medical History Documentation and Medication Management: Obtains patient medical history and medication information and documents appropriately in the patient's medical record. Verifies and notes physician orders. Provides safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments and evaluates outcomes promptly.
Overall, this role involves a comprehensive approach to patient care, encompassing assessment, treatment planning, education, compliance, and medication management. It requires strong communication skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to quality improvement to ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required
BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.
Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)
Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)
1-3 years RN experience in a bedside care setting preferred
Oncology experience preferred
Recent ICU and/or step down preferred
