Job Description:

Full Time Days 12 shifts :36 hours weekly

The Lactation Consultant/Educator is responsible for evaluating and meeting the learning needs of patients and their families (i.e. infant care, breastfeeding), accepts referrals from physicians in areas listed, and provides extensive community education

Essential Duties:

Assesses and facilitates parent/infant bondingProvides follow-up lactation consultation by phone or appointment as neededProvides breastfeeding in-servicesAssists with breastfeeding policies and proceduresPerforms comprehensive maternal, child, and feeding assessments related to breastfeeding and human lactationAssists families with developing and implementing individualized feeding plans in consultation with the client coordinates continuity of care with Mother/Baby personnel

Requirements:

Current licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of NursingBSN and/or IBCLC preferred2 years of job-related experience required
