The registered nurse provides care to patients in a busy post-partum care unit. Under the direction and leadership of the Nurse Manager, the RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through knowledge of the nursing process and age specific requirements, and by following departmental and hospital policy and procedure. Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively document care, delegate assignments, relay information, make referrals, and act as liaison between patient, physicians, other hospital disciplines, and community agencies.

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS Provider credentialed by American Heart Association by first day of employment. NRP certification required during orientation. Prior maternity experience strongly preferred.  Minimum one year of direct patient care experience as an RN strongly preferred.  Current Lawrence General Registered Nurses who are MNA members are also eligible to apply.  Position requires cross-training throughout maternal-child health unit.  Every other weekend and rotation.
