This position performs those duties for the Facility Medical Director and staff providers, utilizing knowledge and skill within the context of the nursing process and the theory of human caring. This position provides the necessary care to assist the patient to achieve and maintain health by the application of the nursing process in accordance with the Physician Service policies and procedures and Nevada State Board of Nursing. The incumbent would be an outstanding role model demonstrating all aspects of the Renown Health Standards of Conduct to a high level of competence. The nurse will support the Mission Statement of Physician Services as well as the Purpose Statement of Renown Health.
Nature and ScopeIn this role, the candidate is responsible for caring out outpatient care responsibilities with an emphasis on decision-making related to the steps in the nursing process to include: assessment, diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, formulates the initial plan of care with the medical provider (physicians, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner) and collaborates with them to implement a comprehensive patient centered plan of care to achieve expected outcomes.
The registered nurse will provide professional nursing care including diagnosing and treating human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling and the provision of care support of or restorative to life and well-being in accordance with their scope of practice.
Challenges to this position are delivery of patient care complicated by new techniques, paperwork, changing department and hospital policies, increased information available on each patient, and fluctuations in staffing.
This position will keep abreast of all standards to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies including third party reimbursement requirements.
The occupant of this position generally works indoors with many pieces of equipment. These may malfunction and expose the incumbent to hazards. In addition, patients may be infectious with biological agents. Specific breakdowns for temperature, humidity, and other hazards may occur.
The incumbent provides direct patient care, and he/she is accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and families. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meet the standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standard.

Name DescriptionEducation:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Nevada.
Experience:
Six months recent Nursing experienced preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
Certification(s):
Current CPR certification by AHA standards is required.
Computer / Typing:
