**Description:**
At **St. Joseph’s Health** the **Med/Surg Short Stay Unit** provides high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals recovering from surgery or requiring brief hospitalization for acute conditions. This role involves assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, monitoring recovery, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient discharge.
**What you will do** :
+ Perform initial and ongoing assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status. Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate care as needed.
+ Educate patients and families about post-discharge care and recovery plans.
+ Collaborative team approach using SNAP rounding daily with interdisciplinary team to ensure patients are on track with goals, patients are progressing, and needs are met.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ **Education** : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.
+ **Licensure** : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in New York.
+ **Certification** : BLS. ACLS required within 3 months of hire
+ **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years clinical experience Med/Surg or Acute Care setting
**Work Schedule** : Full time – 36 Night Shift, 7p-7:30a, Every other Weekend/Holiday

Pay Range: $35.145 - $44.75
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
