Description **Position Overview** A registered nurse provides comprehensive care to patients and assists doctors and physicians in providing patient treatment. They have the capacity to practice independently or under the supervision of a doctor, physician assistant, surgeon or another licensed physician within a health care setting. **Essential Job Functions** + Providing the necessary care for patients + Record patient medical history + Administer medications based on conditions and symptoms + Take patient vitals and start IVs for patients + Guarantee patient confidentiality is kept intact + Act as a liaison for patients and the families of patients + Monitoring the care that patients receive + Offering assistance that is in the best interest of the patient + Interceding for patients in situations that require action immediately + Other Duties as assigned **Staffing and Scheduling:** The schedule or scheduling process is as follows: Work Schedule: Medical/Surgical RNs: Monday – Sunday and holidays includes shift work such as evening, nights and/or days. A thirty (30) minute lunch break and two fifteen (15) minute breaks; (1) during the first 6 hours of the shift and (1) the last 6 hours of the end of the shift will be permissible. Specific days, hours, and shift length will be scheduled by the designated government representative. The specific schedule for each two-week period will be provided one month in advance. Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Position Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements **Requirements** + Degree level: Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) or Associate degree in nursing (ADN) + Active RN License + BLS + ALS + 3 years MedSurg Experience **Physical Requirements** Nurses often work long shifts and must have the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, transport patients by pushing or pulling gurneys and wheelchairs, and lift patients as needed.
