A part-time Registered Nurse position is now available with Liberty Healthcare’s newest forensic mental health program. This program exclusively serves people who are justice-involved, experiencing mental illness, and have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial. Program clients are inmates at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City. The program provides acute care, stabilization, and competency restoration to people in support of their mental health needs and prepare them for potential transfer to a state psychiatric hospital, jail-based competency restoration treatment program, diversion program, or longer term treatment program. Objectives include facilitating early access to mental health assessment and treatment – and providing effective competency training and restoration services. As a Nurse with Liberty Healthcare, your responsibilities will include: Working onsite at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City approximately 16 hours each week Providing basic nursing services to program clients within the jail Administering medications and monitoring patient health Patient education Participating in team meetings and collaborating with Psychiatrists, clinicians, and jail security staff You can expect to be paid between $60.00 and $67.00 per hour (depending on qualifications). Liberty offers a very flexible part-time schedule with the option to work two 8-hour shifts each week or a few hours a day a few days a week.  Daytime hours, but flexibility on exact hours.
