SITE OF SERVICE:

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, TXFull Time Position

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Degree: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing Education: Accredited by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)Additional Certifications: Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS)Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Experience: Shall have a minimum of one (1)-year of relative experience within the last three (3)-years, which includes the care of adults and newborns.Licensure: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Island.U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

CORE DUTIES:

·       Assist surgeons and Anesthesiologists with complex or potentially life-threatening procedures such as insertion of invasive lines, chest tubes, tracheotomies or removal of foreign bodies from the trachea/Endotracheal tubes and nasogastric tubes

·       Conscious/moderation sedation

·       Pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care

·       Recover post-surgical patients including post-cesarean section patients under general anesthesia

·       Administer and support infusion therapy services

HOURS:

It’s a 24/7 facility therefore hours of performance shall be as set forth by the applicable Department Chief or his/her designated Government representative.The MTF is a 24/7 facility, therefore hours of performance may vary. Currently, shifts are 8 hours, Mon-Fri but are subject to change. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
