Astria Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - PACU Unit to join our team! This is a Full Time position offering 10 hour shifts with weekend on call availability. Sign on bonus eligible.
What you get to do every day!
The Registered Nurse - PACU Unit is responsible of coordinating, directing, and delegating patient care in Same Day Surgery Suite, PACU, and Outpatient Services to optimize patient outcomes, improve patient flow, and enhance the patient experience across the continuum. You will:
• Provide episodic care to patients by providing preoperative and postoperative care
• Assess the patient and resources, plan for the scheduled surgery and post discharge care, implement the plan, and evaluate the patient's and family's understanding of the information and their ability to provide for self- care at home
• Perform assessments related to post-operative care which includes respiratory, pain management, patient education, and wound care
• Provide comprehensive care for surgical patients who may also have underlying medical and emotional problems
• Asses and act in a preventative measure in order to assimilate patient needs, establish priorities and minimize complication
• Actively be involve with wound care and infusion therapies
• Establish IV access pre-operatively
• Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions
• Ability to measure and interpret EKG Rhythms, vital signs and levels of consciousness.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
