Registered Nurse - Pre/Post Surgical Unit (38 Bed Unit)

About the Unit: Our 38-bed unit specializes in treating pre and post-operative surgical patients. We provide comprehensive care, including procedures for proper placement of lines and assistance with peripheral nerve blocks. Post-operatively, patients are prepared for discharge in the same area, ensuring continuity during the Phase II Recovery or discharge phase. Critical care experience is desired. BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required or will be required upon hire.

Job Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for implementing the nursing process for each patient assigned to your care, regardless of age (infancy to geriatric). You will ensure patient care is consistent with Kentucky Nursing Laws, organizational policies, and procedures. Your role is to promote positive patient outcomes and deliver quality care while actively participating in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils. You will contribute to maintaining a healthy professional practice environment.

You will follow National Professional Nursing Standards, using critical thinking and clinical reasoning to provide optimal patient care and exercise appropriate nursing judgment. Collaboration with the inter-professional team will be key to enhancing patient outcomes. As a role model, you will engage in continuous professional development and lifelong learning. The Nursing Process will serve as the framework for all care you provide.

Requirements:

Active Kentucky RN License

BCLS required within 90 days

ACLS and PALS required within 6 months
