The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, utilizes knowledge and skills to provide direct age-specific and culturallly appropriate care through the use of the nursing process based on knowledge of principles of growth and development, serves as a clinical resource, participates in patient and staff education, demonstrates leadership, and serves as a preceptor.
This 30 bed unit is located on the first floor of the Gibbs Cancer Center. All rooms are private and include sleeping accommodations for family members. Four rooms can provide negative/positive pressure airflow and two rooms are equipped for patients receiving radiation implants. There is a family room available for private consultation with health team members and families. A kitchen is also provided for the families along with a large waiting area. The primary populations served are patients with end stage illnesses and end of life needs and those with cancer and hematologic diagnosis. We also provide care to patients receiving chemotherapy and those with radiation implants.

$31/hour
Unit based - all stated requirements for unit the associate is hired into will be fulfilled.
Minimum 4 hours per shift
2 weekend or night shifts every 6 weeks
16 hours per pay period or 416 hours per year
