Radiology Nursing is a dynamic unit that supports patients undergoing radiological procedures. While the unit does not have a specific number of beds, it plays a crucial role in ensuring patient comfort and safety during various imaging studies. The patient population and diagnoses in this unit vary, reflecting the diverse nature of radiology services.

Shift requirements: Four 9-hour shifts per week, M-F 7a-430p. On-call requirements and must live within a 30-minute radius of the hospital.

Nursing skills gained on this unit: 

Obtain Radiology Nursing certification  Develop phenomenal procedural skills  Refine time management and critical thinking skills

Qualifications 

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
