REGISTERED NURSE REHAB UNIT

SUMMARY

Coordinate total nursing care for patients using nursing standards and the nursing process; participate in patient and family teaching; provide leadership working cooperatively with other health care providers. The Charge is responsible for providing, coordinating and directing comprehensive nursing care to the rehab patient population based upon the nursing process. To promote an environment of the patient care team that allows for the implementation of optimal patient care and is responsible for supervising other RN's, LPN's and other ancillary staff.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing.

Specialty units may have additional requirements according to their policy.

Current State Nursing License.

BLS required.

Stroke education is required. Refer to Administrative Policy A-148 for specific stroke education requirements.
