The Clinical Nurse-Research coordinates and manages administration and clinical aspects of research projects. Resolves operational and interdepartmental problems relating to projects. Communicates with investigators, external sponsor, ancillary departments, and supervisor regarding protocol and patient issues. Provides guidance for other professionals in the facilitation of the research process.

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Requires knowledge of FDA regulations to govern the conduct of research trials. Requires ability to perform physical assessment of patients. Requires phlebotomy skills to draw blood; start IVs. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and applications.
