This job is knowledgeable and proficient in the pre-transplant, post-transplant, and/or inpatient transplant clinical practice. This job is able to assist in other sections as needed. Acts as a patient advocate and patient educator while promoting optimum patient independence, self-care, and rehabilitation. This job is an integral member of the transplant team, assisting the transplant physicians by independently monitoring certain patients, managing outpatient clinics and periodically reviewing all patients with the physicians. Provides care and service to individuals of all age groups.

Education

Required – Registered Nurse Diploma

Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Work Experience
Required – 3 years related experience with RN Diploma or RN Associate Degree or two years related experience with a BS Degree in Nursing 

Certifications

Required- Current State of Louisiana RN License

BLS

Preferred – Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) through the American Board of Transplant Certification (ABTC)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.

Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

Educates Nursing staff/colleagues

Ensures compliance and participates in quality initiatives
