Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU - Medicine Department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. As a Registered Nurse in our Medical ICU, we care for patients with many different diagnoses including: Covid, multi system organ failure, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, influenza, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, pre/post bone marrow transplant, pre organ transplant (kidney/liver/lung), overdoses, and respiratory/cardiac arrest. Therapies we utilize include hypothermia, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), paralytics, and proning. Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift and will also work a rotation for every 3rd weekend. Benefits:This position is eligible for benefits. Responsibilities Job Description As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for: Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes; Developing an individualized nursing plan of care; Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care; Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes; Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes; Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate; Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes; Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. Qualifications Required Qualifications: MN RN Licensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher. Will consider a new grad with ICU experience as a (SNI or capstone) Certification in related specialty is highly desired. A minimum of one year current medical surgical RN experience in a Hospital setting is preferred. One year adult critical care experience is preferred. Certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing or in a related specialty is highly preferred.
