Pediatric Private Duty RN Job Overview

As a Private Duty Pediatric RN, you will provide specialized nursing care for a 2-year-old boy with:

Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) Muscle hypertonicity Sympathetic storming

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Monitoring & Interventions: Frequent suctioning and oxygen support (PRN and during sleep) NG tube pump feeding Respiratory therapies every four hours (CPT vest, cough assist, nebulizer treatments, humidification) Close visual monitoring for neurostorming episodes with rapid stat drops Pulse oximeter monitoring Comprehensive Patient Care: Full assistance with mobility, communication, transfers, and all activities of daily living (ADLs) Implement physician-directed care plans with precision and compassion Educate and support family members in managing complex medical needs Accurate Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) Follow Oregon Nurse Practice Act and BrightStar Care policies

Qualifications & Requirements:

Active and unrestricted Oregon RN license Minimum one year of nursing experience (pediatric, ICU, NICU, PICU, or home health preferred) Trained in tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube care (preferred) Current CPR/BLS certification (required) Clear background check and drug screening Authorization to work in the U.S.
