Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Surgical & Telemetry - Part Time

The Inova Alexandria High Acuity Cardiac Surgical and Telemetry Unit is seeking a Part-Time, Day shift RN looking to take the next step in their journey.

The Cardiac Surgical and Telemetry unit has 29-beds. It includes 4 semiprivate rooms and 25 private rooms provide care to wide variety of adult patients ranging from 18 years old to geriatrics, with capacity of providing 24-hour telemetry monitoring to all 29 beds.

 The population not only includes patients with cardiac disorders, and other complex diagnoses that require monitoring. The top DRGS: CHF, chest pain, stable cardiac arrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, uterine procedures, ureteral surgeries, major small/large bowel obstructions, post craniotomy patient and spinal surgeries transfers from ICU. Nurses are trained to be able to manage patients on high flow oxygen and BIPAP. It is a COVID designated unit.

The unit collaborates with all disciplines, including physicians, physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologist, and respiratory therapist. The unit is looking forward to welcoming engaged and motivated individuals to join their amazing team!

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. To help achieve our mission, you will consistently provide safe and therapeutic care in a holistic/systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Your ability to integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education, is of vital importance. Communicating effectively and working cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines is required. Your ability to determine processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration is essential.

Schedule: Part-Time/Days (2 -12hrs per week)

Requirements: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting

Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required.

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement: 

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
