Registered Nurse/RN (Child Crisis Stabilization Unit/Towson, 36 hours/week, Day/Eve, Rotating Weekends)

The Child Unit is a 20 bed unit for the multi-disciplinary assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and stabilization of patients age 5-11 years.   Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized. 

As a Registered Nurse/RN you will:

Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans. Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician. Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families. Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff. Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

Requirements:

Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position. Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experience.  Must be available to work at least four shifts per month

All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
