POSITION PURPOSE

The Clinical Quality Nurse, within the Quality Benchmarking and External Reporting department, supporting the MAQI2 program (Michigan Anticoagulation Quality Improvement Initiative), is responsible for oversight and management of associated quality initiative programs and databases.

This position is a Full-Time benefited position scheduled 40 hours per week.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsible for the collection and submission of required collaborative data to external databases for benchmarking and reporting requirements.

Manage all program requirements including but not limited to: Selecting cases for chart abstraction, data management, reports, and interpreting data and sharing between team members with presentations and meetings adhering to time deadlines set by the collaborative.

Helps develop an efficient and automated data collection process to streamline data collection.

Review Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) policies and protocols for site visits.

Participate in Inter-Rater Reliability and achieve a passing score per collaborative guidelines. Attend program conference calls and meetings as required.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current Michigan Nursing License

Graduation from accredited nursing program: BSN Required.

Minimum three (3) years' experience in associated nursing specialty

Clinical chart review and abstraction experience preferred.

Quality improvement experience preferred.

Computer skills necessary to manage and manipulate large databases.

Knowledge of patient care environment (service line) which the collaborative is associated.

Proficiency in the review and abstraction of clinical patient information from multiple electronic medical records. Ability to validate and analyze data. Familiarity with basic statistical concepts.
