Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool to join the team. This role will be Full-time Night Shift: Days Varying, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM |

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities:

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationshipsFormulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practiceSupports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisionsAdvocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issuesAnticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planningDocuments all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentationEvaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiativesCollaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomesActs as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team membersDemonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing If RNs have an Associate’s Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1. Identify which school they plan to attend, 2. Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion; 3. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses, and 4. Complete BSN within 5 years of start dateExperience: Experience: 2+ years of critical care RN experience preferredCertifications- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) & NIHSS
