Summary: The Graduate Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for a defined group of patients according to the hospital’s philosophy of patient care and standards of professional nursing practice. The Graduate Nurse demonstrates responsibility and accountability for judgment and actions, maintains clinical competency and exercises informed judgment in delegating nursing care to others. The Graduate Nurse promotes patient, family and staff learning. The Graduate Nurse will work under the supervision of an RN. Education: Graduate of an accredited R.N. school of nursing. Experience: New graduate nurse. Relevant Information: + Applications will be accepted twice per year for a Spring and Summer Cohort + Applicants will be selected in January for the spring cohort and in August for the summer cohort, with start dates shortly after offers are extended + Applicants should attach the following to the application for selection + Resume + Letter of intent (500 words or less) describing how participating in the Nurse Residency program will impact your nursing career + Copy of transcript (unofficial copy is acceptable) + Letter of recommendation from a nursing instructor/professor + Licensure: Must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 6 months of start date and attain BLS certification within one week of start date.
