Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery- Full Time Nights

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This role will be full-time night shift 3 x 12-hour shifts per week 7:00 p.m. – 7:00a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationshipsFormulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practiceConducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of careAdvocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issuesAccesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planningDocuments all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentationEvaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of careMakes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team membersCommunicates effectively, works cooperatively with others, and has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplinesAssists staff to assess patients' learning needs and outcomes measurement of patient educationProvides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor and delegates patient care activities and coordinates unit activities as neededUtilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and ensures that the process for delivery of care is synthesized from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaborationDemonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education RecordEvaluates clinical and quality outcomes and contributes to performance improvement initiativesMay perform additional duties as assigned

Registered Nurse (RN) Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: Full-time, night shift with 3 x 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am | 16 hours of call in 6-week period |1 summer and 1 winter holiday | 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week period Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Preferred experience- Two years of recent inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hireLicensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license upon start
