Our Women's PACU is seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU Nurse for a full-time position as an RN Perioperative Liaison. Schedule: 5x8 hour shifts/week; 7am-3pm. This position serves as a liaison for Perioperative team, patients and families from PreOp through recovery and discharge. Responsible for providing clinical and emotional support and education along with discharge instructions.
Our unit is a 32-bay Preoperative and PACU department caring for patients before and after their General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. We care for 30 patients a day on average, 75% of which go home same day from the PACU. Our acuity ranges from benign procedures to extensive oncology cases.
The Perioperative Nurse Liaison achieves optimal patient outcomes utilizing an integrated approach. Ensures improvements in practice settings by providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice. Serves as a resource, preceptor and mentor while demonstrating leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Provides knowledgeable/caring clinical practice and care coordination through collaboration with the patient, family, nurse and healthcare delivery teams.

Job Requirements:
One year of Preoperative and PACU, and/or OR nursing experience is required
• Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree. If RN has an Associate’s degree, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
•RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
•BLS for Healthcare Provider certification via American Heart Association
