PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organization policies and procedures; serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments. Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department. Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery
Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness
Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan
Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to changing patient conditions
Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers

JOB SUMMARY:
The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
Implementing clinical nursing interventions
Having a highly diverse medical skillset
Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience within a physician practice setting (preferred).Working knowledge of medical record format and content of patient records.Ability to review records, read physician documentation and verify patient identification.Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with practice managers and other medical group staff/leadership.Work requires a high level of accuracy with the ability to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time.Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required)
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
Bachelors of Science, nursing (preferred)
CERTIFICIATIONS:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification (required within 6 months of hire)
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience (preferred, not required)
TRAINING:
EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
