Crouse’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia or IV conscious sedation, post-surgery. Pay Range: $33.00 - $47.86/hour. $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs, $15,000 sign-on bonus for newly graduated RNs ! Available Schedule(s): + (3) 12 hour shifts 9:00am-9:30pm, 10:30am-11:00pm with rotation of weekends, holidays & on-call (req#30386) Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities: + Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model. + Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care. + Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care. + Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate. + Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay. + Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care. + Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations. + Assists patients receiving surgical procedures, pre-operative pulmonary catheter placement, or epidural catheter placement Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements: + Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license. + Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required. + Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred. + For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained. + One (1) year of PACU or critical care experience. + Certification in a specialty area preferred. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within six (6) months of the hire date.
